Privacy Policy

At Menuzio (“we”, “our”), your privacy matters. This policy explains, in plain language, what data we collect, why, and how you stay in control.

1. Who we are

Menuzio is a Quebec-based software platform that lets independent restaurants accept commission-free online orders. Our head office is in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

2. Data we collect

Restaurant data: business name, address, email, phone, menu, photos, delivery settings.
Customer (order) data: first name, email, phone, delivery address, order contents, chosen payment method.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, cookies.
Analytics data: Google Analytics 4 (G-ERN70W788E), only if you accept non-essential cookies.

We never sell your data and we do not use it for off-site targeted advertising.

3. Why we collect it

To process your orders and route them to the kitchen.
To send order confirmations and status updates.
To improve service performance and reliability.
To meet legal obligations (accounting, tax, fraud prevention).

4. Cookies and consent

We use two types of cookies:

Essential — session, cart, language, security. These cannot be disabled.
Analytics — Google Analytics. Enabled only after your explicit consent via the cookie banner.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing the mz_consent cookie in your browser.

5. Retention

Order data is kept for 7 years for tax reasons (Revenu Québec / CRA). Restaurant accounts are kept while the account is active. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

6. Your rights (Quebec Law 25 / PIPEDA)

Under Quebec’s Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information (Law 25) and Canada’s PIPEDA, you have the right to:

access your personal information;
have it corrected or deleted;
withdraw your consent;
data portability;
file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

7. Security

All traffic is encrypted with TLS 1.2+. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Payments are processed in person, on-site or with the delivery driver — Menuzio never stores credit card numbers. We perform encrypted daily backups.

8. Trusted third parties

We share strictly necessary data with:

Our cloud hosting provider (servers located in Canada);
Google Analytics (with your consent);
Twilio / SMS providers for order notifications;
Tax authorities when required by law.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change and, for material changes, we will display a prominent notice on the site.
